One month after 12-year-old Aliza Spencer was shot and killed on Bigelow Street in Binghamton, the community continues to celebrate her life.
On the lawn of Calvin Coolidge Elementary School, a block from where Spencer was murdered, members of the community celebrated the life of Aliza. Residents were recommended to wear purple, which was Aliza’s favorite color.
In Aliza’s spirit, people attending the celebration brought purple balloons and paper lanterns to light up the sky.
The community hopes the celebration of her life will continue to raise awareness of Aliza and her death.
The investigation into the death of Aliza Spencer is still ongoing.
